Jamaican Vegetables & Managing Blood Pressure

  There has to be a way for humans to help themselves naturally before the environment truly destroys our bodies. Living in Jamaica, we have access to healthy food, and we should take advantage of it. For people who live outside the Caribbean, you can still find ways to incorporate these foods into your diet. Here are some Jamaican vegetables that are great for managing blood pressure: Leafy Greens Callaloo  – A staple green (similar to spinach/amaranth) rich in potassium and magnesium, both key minerals for lowering blood pressure. Pak choi (bok choy)  – Widely grown in Jamaica, high in potassium and calcium. Root Vegetables Sweet potato  – Excellent source of potassium, which helps counteract sodium’s effect on blood pressure.
