Stop using Vegetable Oil

Vegetable Oil does not contain vegetables.  I am not a doctor but a few people I know used to complain about their heart racing so I suggested to them to stop using vegetable oil and start cooking or using coconut oil and now they are all thanking me.  This also helped a few people who suffer from hypertension and eczema. Vegetable oil  is an industrial product. If it can start a car it has no place in your body do destroy delicate organs. Buy coconut oil and take care of  yourself !!  The trans fats in vegetable cooking oil is the leading contributor to   cardiovascular diseases , cancer ,asthma and other forms of inflammation.  Do your own research and add olive oil or coconut oil to your diet .

Turnips

Lately when I have been shopping at the market , I have been seeing turnips all over the place  . I am not a fan but when I found out the benefits of this vegetables I had to make an effort to include it in my meals . Turnips are from the same family as  broccoli, Brussel sprouts , collards and kale .  Turnips contain a phytonutrient called indoles . Indoles may reduce your risk for lung and colorectal cancer . Turnips are anti-bacterial, anti parasitic, anti fungal and anti-inflammatory.  So if you can add this amazing vegetable to your salads , stir fry or in juicing.  Note: If you have issues with your thyroid avoid turnips and consult with your doctor first.

Herbs for Hair Health

I have been researching  how herbs can help with hair health . Olive oil and rosemary apparently will help prevent premature grey hair as well as soothing dry and itchy scalp. Peppermint oil on the scalp has a cooling effect  which may  stimulate growth Onion juice apparently stimulates growth and stops breakage.  Boil onions and strain it and use it as an after shampoo rinse. I assume with conditioner , I am trying it now so I will keep you posted.  Sage is also excellent for  hair growth

Turmeric

Well for years I have been telling people to use Turmeric . Although I use Turmeric heavily at times I never had an ailment where I could see it work on .  Well after the Chik V virus in October , my joints were still bothering me. I am too young for arthritis so I needed to deal with it .  So I made turmeric tea and steamed cabbage with turmeric and coconut oil.  The pain that I was experiencing for at least 10 weeks subsided , but the next day it started again. So last week I incorporated Turmeric in everything and the pain is gone. I use it everyday.  The reason it took me so long to use turmeric , is because all of a sudden I couldn't find it in the supermarket I had to go to a healthfood store.   So I don't know if this will help with anyone suffering with joint and arthritic pain but its worth a try.

Chik V and joint pain

If you are suffering from joint pain like I am at present here are some herbs you should try.  Since I was hit with the Chikungunya Virus last month I have been having issues with my joints . Apparently this is to be expected. Since this is inflammation , I am attacking it with  herbs .  So I have been drinking turmeric tea and cooking with turmeric also drinking and cooking with ginger .  I have also upped my garlic intake as well as drinking Bissy Tea and rosemary tea and cinnamon tea. So I will keep you posted.  What I am dealing with may help people who are dealing with chronic arthritis pain .

I am so sorry I haven't posted anything. I was a victim of the dreaded Chikungunya Virus and it was bloody awful.  I was on 3000 mg of Vitamin C every day and herbs nothing helped maybe they did with the duration.  The pain is horrible and I think I have a minor feeling what it must feel like for people who suffer from chronic joint pain.  Even after the pain subsided I developed this horrible sore throat for 10 days.  I am curious about this virus I am trying to find the long term effects, just interesting how it just popped up out of nowhere. Anyway I am doing some research so look out for new posts.
