Benefits of Rosehips

A Rose hip is the fruit of a rose, they contain 50% more vitamin C than oranges. A single tablespoon of the pulp gives an adult more than the recommended daily allowance of 60 mg. The fruit acids and pectin in rose hip tea is a mild diuretic and laxative. It is used to improve, and relieve the symptoms of kidney disorders. It has the ability to help regenerate new skin cells.  it does not dry out the skin; actually it helps to rehydrate it, keeping the moisture in. Drinking rose hip tea daily will also benefit your skin. Rose hips have a high vitamin A content. It helps to regenerate skin cells, healing wounds and scars. It also helps to keep the skin elastic and nourished. This will prevent wrinkles, but can actually help to minimize any that have already appeared. The vitamin A is also beneficial to the immune system. .  Do not take rose hip if: You are pregnant or breast-feeding. You have diabetes. You have sickle-cell disease.

Mango Leaves

In Jamaica we have mango trees all over the place, did you know that mango trees are considered sacred in India. The fruit is a symbol of love, purity and fertility. According to the ancient believers, mango leaves symbolize life . In parts of South America a tea of the leaves are used for coughs and bronchitis.  Also used to stop diaherra , prevent insomnia  and high blood pressure( will lower blood pressure which can also be dangerous so be careful ). Other countries use a tea from the skins to wash infected skin and external sores. 

Aloe Vera

Aloe Vera is  healing and strengthening for the entire body. It is a strong laxative that cleans and purifies the intestines,bowels and colon. It also cleanses the kidneys and removes all morbid matter from the stomach.   It is also used as an eyewash. It apparently clears up red eyes and apparently improves vision.  Aloe is high in A, C, E, folic acid, choline, B1, B2, B3 (niacin), B6. Aloe Vera is also one of the few plants that contains vitamin B12. Aloe is used to heal skin , beneficial for burns, sunburn and insect bites. There are also claims that is removes wrinkles. Aloe Vera is a well-known adaptogen. An adaptogen is boosts the body’s natural ability to adapt to changes and resist illness. If you are going to ingest aloe combine it with ginger, cinnamon or mint *should not be ingested by pregnant women
